New Sustainability Library

New Sustainability Library

Beginning  Feb. 18, Madrona Center will be open from 6-8PM every Wednesday in the farmhouse.  Wed. evening was chosen specifically to coincide with a time when Islanders  know that the Guemes Library is open.  It provides two opportunities for browsing, reading, etc. , while only having to bike, walk or drive once.  The Madrona Library will provide  materials related to a broad range of sustainability topics from climate change to animal husbandry.  Part of the library will house reference materials to be read onsite only.  Other sections will be for checkout.   A time for conversation related to sustainability issues will take place around Madrona’s kitchen table during the library’s open hours on the last Wednesday.  The Februrary 25, Table Talk will be hosted by Connie Snell and will focus on the difficulty of accessing information on global warming and climate change through the traditional media. Come browse, read, chat, and enjoy a cup of tea.  If you would like to be involved in some way, contact Connie Snell at bcsnell@cablerocket.com.  We will need folks to staff the openings, host the Table Talk, sort through donated materials, and contribute to a fund for coffee, heat, and lights.
